There is no denying that they are brothers

The two pictures above show both Liam and Ben at 2 months; can you tell which picture is Liam and which is Ben?

We took Ben for his 2 month well-baby visit, and I was struck by how similar in size they were at 2 months. Ben measured in at 11 pounds 10 ounces (55th percentile) and 23.5 inches (76th percentile) with a 16 inch head (69th percentile). This means that since he was born, he has gained 4 pounds 5 ounces and grew 3.5 inches.

When Liam was 2 months, he weighed 11 pounds 11 ounces (1 ounce more than his little brother) and was 24 inches (.5 inch talller), which meant he had gained 4 pounds 8 ounces and grew 3 inches since birth.
As Ben's reflux is slowly coming under control, we are seeing more of his personality, and there are some big differences from Liam. At 2 months, Liam smiled constantly and cooed non-stop. He wanted to be held by Mommy, and would cry if a stranger looked at him. He liked tummy time, loved his swing, and could already roll from his tummy to his back. He needed to be held to sleep and liked to nurse for hours on end and up to 12 times a day. Ben is much more serious. His smiles are harder to come by and he is much quieter, prefering to save his cooes for when he is particularly excited. Despite having the same duck nursery theme, Ben loves bears and smiles whenever he sees one. He cannot stand tummy time and hates the swing. He does not care who holds him, although he prefers to stare at Mommy's face and saves his best smiles for Daddy. He prefers to sleep in his crib and cannot fall asleep while held.

The most striking physical difference is eye color. Ben still has blue eyes, but they are clearly a different shade of blue than what Liam had at 2 months. We cannot tell yet whether Ben's eyes will stay blue or change to another color. My bet is that he is going to have my hazel eyes.

For those of you that haven't yet guessed which picture is of which boy; the top picture is Ben and the bottom picture is Liam.

I guessed right, too! =D

V had Ben's exact same eye color at that age and DID end up with his father's hazel eyes - although they're much closer to brown than to green. We'll see if the same ends up being true for your little guy!
