August 20, 2007 at 10:38pm (GMT) you were born by emergency c-section. The pediatrician who was there said he thought you were a stillborn, but you had a pulse. Your 1 minute APGAR was a 1, but then you started fighting to survive and your 5 minute APGAR was a 7. You were an intense baby, and always let me know what you needed. I never questioned whether you were hungry or sleepy as you made yourself perfectly clear. Your favorite place was in my arms nursing, and you did that often. It wasn't long before your rough start to life was a distant memory.
You rolled stomach to back at 2 months, sat by yourself at 5 months, rolled both ways at 6 months, were scooting by 7 months, could point at 8 months, crawled at 10 months, cruised at 11 months, said "ducky" at 12 months, and walked at 14 months. In this last year, you have started walking then running. You have also learned to bounce, jump, and spin. You have started talking. You have learned to color and to build with blocks. You love the alphabet and numbers. You love music, and dance and sing much of the day.
You are free with your love and affection, as long as someone is in your circle of trust. You are reserved, but continually surprise me once you are at ease.
Happy 2nd Birthday, William Francis Xavier. I love you beyond words.

Michelle, thank you for sharing your amazing boy with us through words and pictures - I'm so happy that you've allowed us to walk alongside you virtually these past two years.
Happy, Happy Birthday, Liam!
Awww... Happy Birthday, Liam! I knew you had a rough start but had no idea it was *that* rough. Big hugs to you and your mommy!
Michelle: I had no idea all you went through with Liam's birth! It must have been hard for you to hear of the stillbirths in our DDC with your life experience. You are one strong mama and look how far Liam has come! THank you for sharing! Happy Birthday sweet Liam!
